Fun Shows
Since I last wrote I have Performed at two shows, Madera and Hollister. Madera was fun with the A10 Demo team, and plenty of WWII Warbirds. Civilian performers included, John Collver, Bill Cornick, Tim Decker, Doug Jardine, Spencer Suderman, Silver Wings Wing Walking, Carl Liepold and yours truly. the crowd was more than expected and a good time was had by all.
Hollister was a first time air show. It is using the dates that were always the Watsonville Air Show. The weather was great and many of the beautiful antique and classic planes that graced Watsonville Showed up for static display. This show also had its share of Warbirds. Nothing like the roar of the big 12 cylinder inlines. Civilian performers included some great favoriates. Jackie B (Warda), Vicky Benzing, Eddie Andreini, and yours truly. It was good to see a new show in California. For a new show the crowd satisfied the organizers and it looks like this show will keep going.
April News
A couple of weeks ago I performed at the Riverside Air Show. They had a HUGE crowd even though the wind was blowing 15 to 30 knots. The wind was blowing directly on crowd. It was the strongist cross wind I have ever performed in. I needed 30 to 40 degrees corrections to stay in the aerobatic box. Challenges are fun.
Next month I have two shows coming up, Madera CA on May 22-23, and Hollister CA on May 29-30. I think they will both be great shows.
Spring is Close
March is here and in Southern California this is Spring. I am installing a new smoke system that should be super. After all what is an air show without lots of smoke. I have a couple of new maneuvers for my performance this year which I thimk people will enjoy. My next show is Riverside Air Show on March 27. If you attend the show, or any show for that matter I am performing in, stop by and say Hi.
Great Start for 2010
Wow how time flies, here it is January 2010 already. Last weekend I performed in the first and my first air show of the year. It was Cable Air Show, Upland Calif. The weather was ideal, clear,70f, and no wind. Julie Clark,Dan Buchanan, Rob Harrison, and I were the aerobatic performers. There were skydivers who performed an 18 person jump, RCs, warbird fly-bys and a car show. The organizers said they had the best Saturday gate ($) ever. A great start to the 2010 air show season.
